It is with immense pleasure that we formally announce Oceania Aviation’s partnership
with Air Nauru at Melbourne Airport.
Our Melbourne Team have been handling Air Nauru’s B737-400 freighter aircraft since
August 1 st consisting of between 4 and 8 services per week.
At this particular time of year, it can be quite challenging in Melbourne due to the cold
and windy conditions.
Our Oceania Aviation Melbourne team have been doing a fantastic job of servicing Air
Nauru’s freighters and are sometimes presented with unusual conditions, including
extreme cold, very high winds and potentially un-safe circumstances, however the team
have dealt with these challenges.
On one such occasion our leading hand and loader operator made the call not to unload
an unusually light AAY container when winds were gusting over 50 kms per hour. The
solution was to find 200kgs of ballast to load into the container whilst still in the aircraft
hold to make its mass safe enough to unload in the high wind ramp conditions.
Congratulations to the Oceania Aviation Melbourne Team for making the right call and
stopping when it was unsafe to proceed.
This type of performance is the hallmark of Oceania Aviation and we are extremely
